A 1500 Bed Maximum Security Facility designed for general population maximum security inmates. With housing and support buildings similar to the Upstate Correctional Facility at Malone also designed by DeWolff, Five Points includes congregate dining facilities, general use outdoor recreation yards at each housing unit, a mental health unit in the Infirmary, and an additional program/ classroom building and horticulture greenhouse.
The project also includes an extensive video/audio recording system to monitor all areas of the facility. This project, like the Upstate Prison, was completed on a fast-track schedule in close cooperation with the New York State Office of General Services Design and Construction Group.
