The Monroe County Public Safety Building was built in 1961 as part of the Civic Center Complex in Rochester, N.Y. DeWolff Partnership Architects is currently working with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and the County Probation Office to renovate the 230,000 square foot building and create an inspiring and energetic work environment.
The design process started with a building evaluation and a master plan. This project will continue over a 4-year span, which is split into three phases DeWolff Partnership Architects will lead the project from schematic design through construction. Each phase will have separate Public Bidding to distribute the work by each phase.
DeWolff's design will enhance the rich marble, limestone, and bronze materials of the existing building. The plaza façade, incorporating new entries to the City of Rochester Courts, the Sheriff's Headquarters, and the Probation Department, will complement the character of adjacent Civic Center Buildings and invigorate the concrete and masonry clad exterior.
