THE FAIRPORT BAPTIST HOME

FAIRPORT, NEW YORK

The DeWolff Partnership worked with the Fairport Baptist Homes to transform a traditional double loaded hallway into "households" of between 9 and 12 residents. Each "house" is centered around a commons area and has its own kitchen, dining room, laundry and support spaces.

With this new living arrangement, residents are able to travel the shorter distances to the living services, thereby reducing room isolation and increasing their independence. This innovative approach has become necessary as the average residents age continues to rise.
